Barley Rise Holiday Cottage has views over fields of Cows and sheep – Relaxing Short Break or a great centre for a holiday, visiting friends or family. We are your perfect location in the village of Kelsall, Cheshire – selection of Pubs/restaurants, local shops and set in the heart of the countryside, yet only 7 miles from Chester city the home of Chester Zoo.
Barley Lodge is a log cabin built to the Scandinavian design and is fitted to a high standard offering a feature wood burning stove, which gives a warm homely feel, modern fully equipped fitted kitchen , luxury bathroom with spacious walk in shower and a full size bath. 3 bedrooms – Double, Twin and a single, which will accommodate up to 5 people plus a cot available on request. Private Patio / garden overlooking sheep fields and pony paddock.
Free wifi and smart TV means that you can stay connected and also have access to all the entertainment you require. The holiday home has electric panel radiators and electric costs are included together with a plentiful supply of top quality logs for the wood burning stove.
Well behaved pets are also welcome, please be aware that we have sheep, horses and dogs. Stables are available for hire meaning that your horse or pony can come too.
Located next door to the Weetwood Ales , kelsall’s own microbrewery – beer sampling is definitely recommended and tours of the brewery are also available. Beer can be bought directly from the brewery during working hours.
Kelsall has several pubs in the village and all serve good quality food and are within a mile of Barley Lodge. Some can be reached across the fields via footpaths making it an altogether more enjoyable experience.
With lots of activities and places of interest close to Barley Lodge there is bound to be something for everyone. From walks in the forest to track days at Oulton Park or take in some of the history of Cheshire at Beeston Castle or on the Chester city walls. A few ideas of local places of interest are listed below.
Walkers will particularly enjoy our location with several local walks available as well as Eddisbury way and the sandstone trail. The Boot pub offers a selection of walks starting and ending there and you can order your lunch before you set off.
The lodge is well equipped so that you only need to bring yourselves and food/drink. The kitchen has all the crockery, cutlery , pans and cooking utensils. together with basic supplies of salt, pepper, tea, coffee, sugar etc. We also provide kitchen roll, dish cloth, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags – well most things that we think you would find useful. There is a full size dishwasher, tall family fridge freezer, microwave, hob and oven.
The bed linen is all 100% Egyptian cotton, pillows and duvets are all allergy sensitive, Egyptian cotton towels are also provided for each guest.
